About Us...

"Our Mission is to empower dog owners to have a positive experience and relationship with their dog (s) by offering professional dog training and activities, and by encouraging members to uphold the Club's values of respect, tolerance, fairness and courtesy for all people."

Over 70% of the general public in Northern California own a dog or two or three.

Because dog ownership is a privilege and a responsibility, the Northern California Dog Training Club (NCDTC), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization has served the Redding and Shasta County communities with low-cost dog training classes since 1960.

As a tax-exempt charitable and educational organization we are dedicated to helping both dogs and their owners become responsible pet owners and good citizens.

Several times throughout the year, club members provide “no-fee” exhibitions, fun days, and demonstrations featuring the various skills of our dogs including Pet Therapy, Obedience, Agility, Flyball, Tracking, Rally Obedience, Freestyle Obedience and AKC Canine Good Citizenship Testing.

Our club also joins with the Shasta Kennel Club, Haven Human Society, Barktoberfest, Love Your Pet Expo, and other similar organizations and community activities such as Parades, Educational Awareness Events at local shopping centers and malls and at local Parks.

Membership dues and training classes are our primary source of income.  In addition to community events, Club monies also provide for donations made to other non-profit organizations; such as, Hearing Dogs, Seeing Eye Dogs, and various shelters in the surrounding counties, for the betterment of our canine friends. We have also supplied monies towards veterinary scholarships.
